Materials

Hook:Mustard Size #8 or #10 (open gap slightly for better hookup).
Thread: 6/0 Black.
Weight: Gold tungsten bead, 5/32 or 1/8 (build up thread behind bead, squeeze the thread into the bead opening, and add a drop of Locktite Superglue, which is sold in Benny’s).
Tail: Soft Feather from tail of Ringneck Pheasant (hook length or a little longer).
Body: 2 Ringneck Pheasant aftershafts (behind each tail feather) wound on hook very close to each other. (Aftershafts from a Ringneck Pheasant are longer and thicker than those of other birds.)
Rib: Fine gold wire (which will strengthen the delicate aftershaft).
Collar: Black Ostrich Herl (Michael’s has long, thick ostrich herls, which match the thickness of the wound aftershaft).
